If you’ve always fantasized about liberating you inner Julia Child, but don’t know where to start, look no further than Florence Melin. She brings her training from Ferrandi - one of Paris’ top culinary schools - to your kitchen, along with hefty measures of warmth, patience, and humor.
Anyone can look up a recipe on the internet, but cooking isn’t always the exact science we expect it to be. Florence will show you what the web cannot, and what to watch for, when your stove, oven, timer, or tv show might fail you.
My inner perfectionist almost stopped me from working with someone of Florence’s caliber, but her good nature quickly put me at ease. She was patient and professional, as we turned out crème brûlée, almond cookies, and the most spectacular bread I have ever eaten. The whole experience has made me reconsider whether to buy these in stores again. It’s pretty exciting when your mantra becomes, “mine is better”.

I don't know what I would do without Sucre&Sel now that I know them. We coordinate multi-day painting workshops for nationally and internationally recognized artists, and our studio is located in near downtown Raleigh, in an area that's not walking distance to any restaurant, so lunch time was always a challenge for so many out of town students that don't know the area, and even for local students that want to avoid the hassle of driving downtown, find a parking garage and buy lunch places that might take longer time that they might want to take. When I met Florence (Sucre&Sel owner) and tried her delicious and healthy catering meals we were convinced this was the way to go. Sucre&Sel have served lunch for many of our workshops, and everybody is always raving about the high quality of the food, the presentation and how healthy and fresh they are. Starting 2020, Sucre&Sel will provide lunch for all our workshops and we can't wait to try all the wonderful meals (and desserts!) they will bring.

I worked with Florence for a private party for a local organization, involving approximately 100 guests. From our first interaction, Florence offered excellent guidance, paid attention to every detail, was reliable, professional and a sheer pleasure to work with. I asked 'Sucre et Sel" to prepare and deliver a last minute upscale dinner of eight at my house. Everything was delicious. We had ceviche, then roasted chicken served with prunes and herb-seasoned rice, then a marvelous Tarte Tatin with a perfect cardamon and vanilla ice cream.
